First Book List of 2018

I have always loved reading, I'm not a very fast reader but I do love getting lost in a good book. I feel like it is so easy to loose yourself and go to a completely new place where anything is possible. 

This year I want to read a lot more then I have been, I don't want to plan my whole year of reading right now as I don't know what books will be coming out this year, but I have 3 books on my list so far. As I said before I am not a very fast reader, so I am going to try and get through a book every two months, if I do it quicker then great but if I don't and it takes a little longer then I don't mind. 

I have my first three books all lined up, book 1 is:

Body Positive Power By Megan Jayne Crabbe 

I have been reading this since last year and it is already helping me so much with how I look at my body and how I look at other people. I no longer judge myself on the number on the scales, I see more then that in myself. I look at what clothing fits instead of focusing on the fact that I am going up in dress sizes. I used to think that thin people were the enemy (sorry), that it was us against them. I now look at everyone and think, if you want to look how you look you do it, ''You Do You'' no one has the right to tell you how you can or can not look, or what your body should or shouldn't look like. If you want to loose weight then do it, but do it for yourself and not to fit into something society has forced you into thinking is and isn't acceptable to look like. 

Already Megan has given me the confidence to look at my body differently, it is not disgusting, it is not ugly, it is cute and cuddly and is me, my body will be here for me forever and I need to love it a little bit better. 

If you are feeling down or feeling like you aren't happy with how you look because of what you see in magazines, have a read of this and trust me you will feel different.

The Not So Subtle Art of Being A Fat Girl by Tess Holliday 

Tess has been an inspiration of mine for a while, she was the first plus size women I followed on Instagram. For me she made me change my opinion on the word Fat. When I was younger I was bullied and fat was the main word I was called. So to me it was the worst thing you could possibly be, worse then a liar, worse then a bully, worse then swearing. It was the one thing you never wanted to be and it was the only thing I was. I carried that around with me for so long, but fat as an adjective means 

'A person having a large amount of excessive skin'

Yes I do have a lot of skin well done. A word has a lot of power, I know that because it affected me for so long, but at the age I am now, I don't let it have that power over me anymore, I own it. If someone was to call me fat now, I would say, thank you for pointing out the obvious, anything else you would like to point out? I have brown hair, I wear glasses, anything else obvious??? Well done you notice I am fat well done!! You can see, and..... that doesn't mean I am not a nice person, or I make my friends laugh, or that I am loved. Yes I am Fat but I am so much more then that too. 

Tess has made me realise that and I honestly can't wait to read her book.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone By J.K. Rowling 

HUFFLEPUFF HUFFLEPUFF HUFFLEPUFF!!!! Ok now that is out of my system I have to admit at how bad a HP fan I am, I have never read the books (Covers face in shame) I know I know I'm a fake I'm a fraud!!! But I am going to change that this year, I am going to read them, I cant wait. I know that there will be a lot more in the books then in the movies and I want to know more. 

I am on Pottermore and I am a very proud Hufflepuff, I know my patronus (a blood hound in case your interested) and I know my wand (a unicorn heart string). Yet I have never read the books, so I am very excited to see the characters a bit better and then maybe get a little agree with the producers and writers for changing the stories.

These will be my first three books of this year and I cant wait to start reading. What else do you think I should read?? Anyone else read these books, what do you think of them?

Last 3 Months of 2017

As much as I am in denial, 2017 is swiftly coming to an end. So with only 3 months left I want to do a little bucket list of the end of the year to see how many of these things I get done before the year is out.

These little quarterly (ish) lists are good just to keep you on track and to show how much you can and cant do. Anything I don't get done I will move them over to the next three months and so on.

- Finish Megan Jayne Crabbes book ''Body Positive Power''
    I got this book at Curve Fashion Festival and being a bit of a slow reader it is taking me a while to finish it but honestly I don't think a book has touched me as much as this one has. Megan should honestly be the person who goes round schools telling pupils and teenagers that they need to embrace their bodies. She is an unbelievable human being who is such a sweet person and who needs to get a million stars for being so good. She has made me look at my body in such a different way, I no longer feel that I have to be anything but me. If I want to eat Krispy Kremes, dairy milks and Maccies all in one day I bloody well will. This is my body and I will do what I want, if I want to spend the day eating a salad and drinking water I bloody well will because it it my body and I will do what I want with it. No one has the right to tell you how to live and Megan explains this in the book as well as little exercises to give you a little kick up the bum to accepting your body as it is.

- Second get a passport.
     Yes to peoples shock and amazement I have never been on a plane (insert gasp here). I have been out the country I have been to France twice and I have also been skiing in Italy, but when I was 18 I was mugged and my passport was in my bag and I have never gotten a replacement. With me getting married next year I need a passport to prove I am who I say I am, so I suppose I better get my but moving with this one.

   YouTube is something I have ALWAYS loved, I watch so many people, so I finally took the plunge last month to start filming myself, at this moment I have 3 videos on my computer ready to be edited but I am a bit scared. One is a Lush haul which is fine with, one is a vlog when we went to Dunham Massey, and the last is a make up tutorial, that is were I get scared. I know I am opening myself up to critasisum when I make videos but I worry people will just slate me for how I do my make up. So the video is made up of me saying over and over ''This is how I do my make up I am not a make up artist this is just what works for me' which is all I kept saying. So maybe I just need to get over my fear and just do it. I think my target for the end of the year is to upload another 12 videos, so 1 per week for the rest of the year. So watch this space.

-Forth Getting into a proper skin care routine
   I normally have good skin, I don't get breakouts, I have a bit of redness but apart from that I have good skin....Till now that is, over the last week or so I have been getting spots and breakouts. I think its because I am breaking the number 1 rule in make up and going to bed with my make up on! I now its a shock but I bet I am not the only person who does it. I am trying at the moment to get into a routine of getting in from where ever I have been and if I know I wont be going back out, taking my make up off and washing my face properly, also using a scrub twice a week, just to make my skin feel a bit better. The scrub I am using at the moment is the Nip n Fab scrub, you only need to tiniest amount and trust me you can feel it working. I got this one free in a goodie back at Curve Fashion Festival but this will be repurchased.  

I think 4 things in 3 months is enough for me at the moment. So keep an eye on this blog in the new year and lets see how I have kept up with this little bucket list.

30 Day Blog Challenge Day 8

Hi Guys 

Hope your all ok

So today's blog is all about goals, my current 5 goals. These I found very easy to write, I think about what I want for the year coming ahead and try and do my best to make these goals come true.

1: Improve My Blog:
Number 1 is to make more of my blog, I love writing it and it helps me relax and makes me so happy to think people actually read what I write. I want to try and publish my blog a lot quicker then I do at the moment, which I have trouble doing just because of my working schedule. I tried to put a timer on my blogs but it didn't work right and didn't publish them at the right time. So my main goal at the moment is to focus more on my blog. 

2: Make Some Vlogs:
So I have a youtube channel that I am doing nothing with at the moment but just like my blog I would like to make more of it. Right now I am trying to learn how to edit my videos so once I have learnt that I will be putting together more videos, but I will let all of you lovely people know when I upload my videos. 

3: Redecorating My Home:
Recently Paul and I picked out some paint for the dinning room, Paul also ordered some chalk paint which is amazing for making over wood items. Our dinning room table and a side board we have is made of wood and we are planing on painting them. We have picked out a very light green for the wall, which we are going to use only on the chimney breast, the rest will be kept white. For the chalk paint Paul has ordered a few colours and we are currently sanding down the table and playing around with the colour but it is a lot cheaper then buying brand new painted furniture, plus it is something we get to do together. 

4: Grow My Nails:
I have been a nail bitter since before I can remember, but right now I would LOVE to grow them. I have had acrylic nails and false nails, and I love the way they make me feel. So I am trying to grow them as much as I can, I am using Sally Hensons ''Hard As Nails'' at the moment and it makes them grow so quickly so I am going to carry on using that and see how I go, wish me luck??? 

5: Read More Books:
I have always loved reading, but I feel like I don't have a lot of time for it at night, so I try and read when I am on my commute to work. At the moment I am reading "The Rules of Life" By Richard Templar, it is giving me so much positive thoughts. It makes you think of situations differently, which for me is a really good thing. I tend to over think a lot of things and this book is really helping me not do that. My next book is going to be "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne which is another positive thinking book.
