Lippy Love

There used to be a time in my life where I didn't wear lipstick. I didn't like the way it felt and I thought it just didn't look right one me.

Fast forward a few years and I have a huge collection! Lipsticks, lip glossed, liquids, lattes, shines. You name it I have it. I love different colours too, my favourites are pinks, nudes and reds. I am always on the search for the best lipstick, the one that will stay on no matter what, if I drink, eat or kiss I want it to stay on. My problem is I am a lip licker, I can't not do it, so it tends to take lipsticks off, but one day I will find that one that doesn't come off.

Anyway back to my love! I want to show you my current faves lipsticks, these are ones I use all the time and ones I cant do without.

Revolution Soph Nude Lipstick - Cake

Mmmmm cake (flash backs of Sarah Millican's cake pigeon). Yes there is actually a lipstick called Cake!!! Soph from Soph does Nails, has done 3 collabs now with Revolution Make Up, her third was a set of 3 lipsticks, with the most delicious names, Cake, Syrup and Fudge. When she introduced these lipsticks on her Youtube channel I saw how nice and pinky toned Cake was and I needed it in my life.

I got mine from Revolutions website but they can also be purchased from Superdrug too. The formula is so creamy, it stays really nicely on your lips and for me the colour is like my lips but better. Dare I say it, it is my perfect nude. Yes I actually said it (gasp).

Not only is the lipstick it self so pretty but the packaging is so cute, it is a light nude colour on the bottom with the lid in  rose gold, when you open it the tube is all rose gold.

Revolution Pro Supreme Matte Lip Pigment - Inconspicuous

I can't really talk about my favourite lipsticks without including the one I wore on my wedding day. Wedding lipstick it something I wanted to make sure was perfect for a two reasons, 1 - pictures, 2 - our kiss. Paul doesn't like the lipsticks that come off on his lips when we kiss, so I needed something that really was god and wouldn't come off easy.

My dress was 50's style and to me the first thing that comes to my head with I think of the 1950's is a red lip, so that is what I wanted. I searched high and low to find that perfect cute red that I had in my head. I tried Sleek, Mac, Urban Decay and I couldn't find that right colour. Until one day out at Superdrug on my break from work I saw it right there, this bright cute red and I know ''that's the one''. At the bargain price of £4!

I love the colour it is an orange red, with I think is just perfect for me. It applies quiet think so little is more, you need to give it a little time to dry, but when it does you have a lippy that is kiss proof. It did come off when I had a drink but Paul was safe for the first kiss as Mr and Mrs.

Sleek Lip V.I.P Lipstick - Dream Decade

What is life without a bright pink lipstick?? Well for me I have quite a few but I love them so much, bright pink is such my colour and most of summer is spent in one. So picking my fave is quite hard, but when you have a lippy like Dream Decade then picking becomes a little bit easier.

I got this from boots and I just love it. I have spoke about this a while ago in another blog, but I can't help but list it again, it is just so pretty. This pink honestly reminds me of Kelly from Jelly with the Belly, just because it looks like her hair, which I also love!!!

This one is again creamy but the down side is I do find it does that weird thing in the corner of my lips where it sort of bunches together and goes all weird, it looks like my lips are dry and flaky,  I don't know if this happens to just me or others too, but I find it is a down side for me, but my love of the colour overcomes that.

Urban Decay Comfort Matte Vice Lipstick - Bad Blood

No Bad Blood is not just a Taylor Swift song, it is a lovely deep red lipstick that was my first purchase from Urban Decay. I had never made a high end purchase before so when I was mooching around the stand I didn't really think I would buy anything. I wanted something that was red because I love red, and I spoke to the girl on the counter about which finish I wanted, I had never had a matte before but she said that this was a nice creamy matte instead of a dry matte.

I had always had problems with my lips when ever I tried a matte lipstick so I wasn't sure if I wanted to go with one or not, but with it being more of a comfort matte it has moisture in it so it isn't as drying as others.

This is more of my winter colours, I love having my pale skin (no fake tan for me), my dark hair and a darker lip in winter, it just makes me happy.

New Look Pure Colour Lipstick - Mink

I was not sure if I should put this one in my blog as technically you cant get this one anymore but it really is one of my favourite nude lipsticks. I have had it for a while and now it is getting to the end I am getting so sad that I wont be able to get it again.

I got this from New Look about 2 years ago and I just love it. It's a high shine lipstick in nude, it is super creamy and super cute to wear especially if you have a nice bold eye look, this is probably another one of my my lips but better lipsticks. It also has a nice smell, which I don't really think is a normal thing for lipstick but it really does. It smells quite floral. So from now on when I go shopping I will make sure this is in my bag so I can compare the colour to other lipsticks.

So these are my favourites .... for now, but my collection will grow and my favourites will change. Which colours of lippy do you love? Are any of these yours??

See you soon
Lots of love

From Maisie Brush Review

Like most people I am obsessed with unicorns. I love them, I have pjs with unicorns on, my screen saver is a unicron, I have a unicorn jewellery plate, slippers, t-shirts, bags, teddies (yes I am 29 years old) you name it I probably have it. So when I saw a make up brush in the shape of a unicorn horn I HAD to have it.

The company From Maisie was started by a lovely lady called Emma and her husband James, it truly is a family affair since the brand is named after their daughter, which I think is just adorable. Not only do they sell unicorn shaped make up brushes but they also sell mermaid tail shaped brushed too. So all you mermaid lovers you know where to go (the do also sell normal shaped brushes, in case for some strange reason you didn't like unicorns or mermaids). The company is still a baby, starting in September 2017 but is already very popular and it isn't hard to see why.

I first saw the company on Instagram and fell in love, they are amazing brushes and when I got the chance to get my hands on them I jumped at the chance. I decided to go for the Maisie's Unicorn, they are pink, purple and blue unicorn horn brushes, the bristles are white with a purple tip.

You can see the passion the brand have as soon as the envelope lands on your door step. It is a silver mermaid looking type envelope. Its the type of envelope that you know your getting something fun inside.

The brushes themselves come in a white drawstring 'From Maisie' bag, and then are wrapped individually in plastic. I like that since it shows each brush is really looked after individually rather then having something that is just dumped all together.

In the pack you get 10 brushes, 5 face and 5 eye/lip. The brushes themselves are super soft and you can feel the quality in them, they don't feel cheap. I have had cheap brush and straight away you can tell they will fall apart but the 'From Maisie' brushes really do feel nice and strong.

I started to use the brushes the next day and being truthful a week later I am still reaching for them rather than my normal brushes (including my beauty blender).

I use the angled face brush as a foundation brush, I don't find my foundation streaky and I have found it is speading up my make up in the morning, (which can easily be spent snoozing that alarm). My favourite brush has to be the shading brush, it feels so nice and simple to blend out my eyeshadows. Having a little bit of a hooded eye, blending is important for my eye shape to match.

I have used the brushes on a few palettes and it picks up the product well, I haven't had as much fall out from shadows using these brushes. The unicorn handle makes it easy for me to hold as well. I have a deformed thumb so it is a lot smaller then my other thumb so I do find this a lot easier to hold then other brushes.

So far the only brushes I haven't used have been the lip brush and the flat face brush, just because I don't use lip brushes and not being 100% on my make up brushes I don't no what I would use the flat brush to do.

The blush brush is ultra soft but I must admit I have used it to powder my face with rather then a blush. This is because of the slight point it has, I find it goes under my eye easier.

The care of the brushes is as easy as any other, I clean them in baby shampoo and I store them in my little pot for makeup brushes. I love the added bonus of having the 'From Maisie' bag, I can see that making traveling with them so much more easy. It will also be good to pop in a couple of make up items in the bag as well since it is quite a good size bag.

I really like these brushes and I just hope 'From Maisie' expand and maybe add brushes like highlighter, angel brush for eyebrows maybe. Or maybe even a mini unicorn horn beauty blender (a girl can dream can't she).

If you've been looking at them and your not sure, honestly do it! I'm glad I did.

See you Soon

Essentially Sleek Review

Who doesn't love a good bargain? I know I do. When that bargain is on make up it makes me even happier. So when I saw boots were giving away a gift when you spend over £12 on Sleek make up I was all over it.

I bought the Cleopatra's Kiss Highlighting Palette which I have wanted since I saw Rachel from Rachel Leary use it in one of her videos and it gave her such an amazing glow. I also bought the VIP Lipstick in Dream Decade which is the most amazing pink I love it.

The free gift was the Essentially Sleek collection, which has the VIP lipstick in Show off, Dip It Eyeliner in Black and a mini All Night Long i-Divine Palette.

So confession time, before this purchase I had never used Sleek make up before. So this review will be a totally honest first impression.

I normally have a very bad time with lipsticks, I am a lip licker, I am always licking my lips so I can never find a lipstick that stays on. Sadly the VIP lipstick is no different, I found the colour lasted about 2ish hours without reapplying, but considering I also ate in that time and I didn't bring it out with me to reapply. I think it is very good.

What I love about the lipstick though is that it is very vibrant colour, both the pink and the brown is gorgeous and so pigmented. It is also very creamy which allows it to go on so easily.

The eye shadow palette it MY LOVE!!!! The colours are so nice over all my utter favourite is Manhattan which is the coppery colour (the last colour in the palette). I love copper colours mainly because I love autumn, and since we are just going into that season I can see myself wearing it a lot more.

The palette is small so you will need a smaller brush to use it but I am totally fine with that, but for something so small the colours really do pack a punch with pigment.

Lastly the Eyeliner, honestly I don't like it. At first I thought it is because I am used to using a felt liner, but after wearing it to work I found that the feel is so weird, its like you can feel it dry on your lid, then you can just feel it there all day. On the plus side though it didn't move unlike my felt liner, which during the day will smudge and go under my eye even though I don't touch it. I just don't know if that is enough to try and deal with that feeling. The colour is so nice and it is dark black and so bold, so maybe if you don't get that feeling with this type of liner then this is going to be brill for you. I just need to work on that feeling.

Using the full collection this is the look I  came up with. I am in love with the eye look, this is the Manhattan I said I liked so much. With the lip colour I was worried it would be too dark for me as I am normally used to bright colours, but this is so nice and looks super cute.

Overall I would say this is defiantly a good introduction to Sleek, it shows me that they have good pigmented products and that the lipsticks are gorgeous so I will be buying more of them, I just need to see if they have a felt liner.

What do you all think? What are your favourite Sleek products?

See you soon

Favourite Make up

I love make up, I always have and I always will. I love how I feel when I have it on, the colours and putting it on as well. So picking some of my favourite items was a little hard, I thought since I wear make up everyday for work that instead of going through all the palette's I wear when I'm not at work, I would pick from my day to day make up that I use.

First is a lovely bargain from everyones favourite place Primark, this sweet little palette is there Nudes Collection it is meant to be the dupe of the Urban Decay Naked palette, although I don't know for myself as I don't own it. I love the colours in this, they are so good for everyday and you do get some good pigmentation from them.

The first colour which is the white, is so good for an inner corner highlight, it looks matte in the picture but it isn't. As you can tell my favourite colour is the 'Café Crème' (from the indentation haha) it is so nice I love it. One a daily basis I will use the brown tones because I love that look, it is so nice.

The only downside to this palette is that there isn't a mirror, so I have to go between palette's when I use this, but for £4 the colours are lovely and the packaging is really good too.

Next is my contour, which is the Rimmel London Sculting Palette By Kate, I got this from boots for £6.99 a while ago and ever since I bought it I have loved it. I got introduced to it by Alix from I Covet Thee on YouTube, on her video 'How to do you make up in 5 Minutes'.

It is so simple to use and like in Alix's video, it's super quick. They do two colours so because I am about as pale as Casper the friendly ghost I use the lighter of the two which is 002. I also love the blusher in this, it is a really nice coral colour which matches a lipstick I wear to work a lot so it ties in the look really well.

Again from the pictures you can tell the palette is very well worn. The only problem I find which I think might just be me, is the highlight isn't very pigmented so I do use it but I also put another highlighter underneath, just to get the look I want.

The last favourite item I have at the moment is only about a week old for me, I have never bought anything from Sleek before but the Boots where I live has a very nice selection, so I got the Highlighting Palette in shade Cleopatra's Kiss.

The colours are gorgeous, there are golds and pinks and they are so so cute. You get two cream shades and two powder shades, I have never used cream highlighters before and to be honest they did scare me a little bit but I love them, they are so much easier to use. I find I get a nice pigmentation if I use my fingers to apply it. On a day to day basis I will use a cream on the bottom and put the Rimmel highlighter from the Sculpting Palette on top and it shows up really nicely.

The palette does come with a little brush but I don't like it, it seems really hard and stiff. I don't tend to use brushes that come with make up anyway, like with eye shadow palettes, I never use them I much prefer my own brushes.

So there you have it those are my favourite make up items at the moment. What are your favs? Do you agree with mine?

Lots of Love

My Daily Make Up

Hi Lovelies

I am a make up addict .... phew that came out very easy. Thankfully due to my new job where I wear make up everyday I get to buy even more and enjoy it so much more then I did before.

So I thought I would show you all what I do for my daily make up routine. This is for everyday wear so I don't tend to go OTT or anything, its just a very basic make up look for work, but if you would like me to do a post based on what I wear on days off, just comment below and I will do.

I have been trying out this look for a while now so I am able to do it in about 10ish minutes so if I am running late I know I can still pop this on and go. That being said I would like to add that in no way shape or form am I a make up artist, I do not do make up for other people I do it for me because I love it, I am not saying the way I do it is right, I just want to show you what works for me, so this is what I do.

After I have done my skin care routine in the morning I put on my primer which is the Collection Primed and Ready Powered by Witch Mattifying Pore Minimiser, I really like this primer as it gives you more of a matte finish. I am not big on shine unless I have put it there myself so the more matte the better I say. Plus I find around my nose I do have large open pores, I did use the Benefit Porefessional, but being on a budget at the moment I find the Collection one just as good.

I will leave that for a little bit while I set up my make up. I have a shelf in my bathroom where I keep my everyday make up, I find it easy to have it there instead of inside my make up case so it is easier to get out. Then I go ahead and use my foundation.

I go through so many different foundations and I have about 5 in my make up case that I use every now and then but at the moment I am using the L'Oréal Infallible Foundation, it has a pump instead of being in a squeezy tube, I much prefer the pump to the squeezy. I find it a lot easy to control the product by not getting too much out. I dot it or put lines across my face and then use a foundation brush and blend it in using a circular motion. Most people will say to use a beauty blender and I have tried it, I do sometimes use one to put concealer on but I just cant get use to using one to put on foundation.

I like using this foundation because it matches my skin, I am quite pale and find it hard to match sometimes, the only down side I find is that since I wear glasses, by the end of the day it has come off across the bridge of my nose, I use a fixing spray but it doesn't really help, I love wearing glasses but I hate that down side.

After my foundation I go in with a little bit of concealer. I used to have to put quite a lot on but since using my new skin care I havent needed to cover up break outs which is good. I do however have to try and cover up these lovely shopping bags under my eyes, for that I use the Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer. Apart from my holy grail concealer (Collection Lasting Perfection) this is the best concealer I have, it doesn't move or smudge or cake under my eye not to mention the fact that it covers up all the darkness.

With my base done I use my fixing spray, which I have only recently began to use. I used to use my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder to keep my foundation on place but I do like my fixing spray. I use the Makeup Revolution Illuminating Fixing Spray, it adds to your skin by giving you a glow. I'm not a tan fan but I do love to glow. So this (and a good highlighter) give me what I need. I did take pictures of me spraying this but I look so weird because I  do this scrunched up face so lets not share those haha.

Once my fixing spray has set in I go in with my contour. BIG NOTE there are two things that I think I always do wrong, even though I do them every day, and contouring is one of them. No matter how many youtube tutorials I watch (basically every single one) I just cant get the hang of it so lets just admit I do it wrong, but its on my face and I like how it eventually looks so as long as your happy with how you look just go with it.

I contour using the W7 Hollywood Bronze and Glow Palette, I picked it up in a random make up shop and thought it was a nice colour to use for my skin since it isn't too dark. It comes with the contour and a highlighter. I used a large fluffy angled brush and suck in my cheeks, and go to town blending it in.

Then I move onto brows BIG NOTE this is my number two of things I can't do but do anyway, my brows, they have been a bit of a problem for me for a while. I am to much of a chicken to get them waxed or plucked so I tweeze them every once in a while and hope for the best haha. So when it comes to make up all I do is fill in the gaps, I don't do an outline or anything, because to be honest I have no idea what I am doing. When I do fill the gaps I use Younique Addiction Palette 2 and use the colour Cocky, its a nice darkish brown and I like how it looks on my brows. It is originally an eye shadow but using it for your brows just shows how diverse a product it is, I have used another colour from that palette as a highlight too and as a cheeky bonus if you order from my friend Nic for your first order you will get free shipping. So click the link in her name and message her.

Next is cheeks and for blush I use the Kiko Limited Edition Less is Better Cream Blush, it is from Kiko's 20th Anniversary and it is such a beautiful colour, I love it. I have never used a cream blush before, but it is easy to use, I just swirl my finger in the jar and then pat it onto my cheeks.

Finally I go on to eyes. On a daily basis I wont tend to do eye shadow, I choose to go for a wing liner and big lashes, for eyeliner I use the Collection Felt Tip Eyeliner, I love the brush because I can use it like a pen which I find easier. I wing it out first then join a line to my eye lid and then fill in the gaps, I only do a little wing but I love how it looks once I have my glasses on.

(Forgot to take a picture of blusher on its own so this is eyeliner and blusher together)

For mascara I use the Kiko Volume Attraction it really pushes my lashes up and curls them, without me having to use an eye lash curler, I will sometimes also add a Kiko top coat which really makes my eyelashes long but I didn't use it today.

Last but not least just before I leave the house I will do my lips, some days I will put on a bright pink lip but it depends on how I feel, today I just wanted a bit of a clean fresh faced look so I used the Younique Lip Bon Bon, it keeps my lips looking nice because it feels so moisturising but also gives you a colour and smells lovely.

So that is what I look like when I go to work, I do love make up so much and like I said at the beginning I am so much happier now I get the chance to wear it everyday, so I really can see what I like and give it a proper test drive.

What look do you go for on a day to day basis? Do you change it up? Or do you have a set look? Let me know in the comments.

See you soon
Love you Lots

The Power of Make Up

Hi Guys

Hope you're all ok

I have been having a little break from my blog but I'm back and here to stay.

This post is based on a youtube video I recently watched by Becca Rose. She is one of my favourite youtubers and I am a bit obsessed with her channel. A few weeks ago she filmed a video about the power of make up, she had gotten the idea from another youtuber (Nikki Tutorials). (To watch their videos please click the links below)

                                                                         Nikki Tutorial

The video is all about how women are seen by some men as being fake when they wear make up. There has been a number of memes and pictures flying around social media like this :

Which is aimed at other men, telling them to take girls out on a first date to a swimming baths so they can see their true faces.

There has even been a story in the media (although I am not sure how reliable it is) that a man was sueing his wife for mental damages after seeing her with no make up on the day after they got married

I don't wear make up everyday, sometimes if I am in a rush I wont wear it, or sometimes when I am too tired or just cant be bothered to put it on I wont, so for me make up is not something I use to cover myself up. I did not use make up to make my boyfriend fall in love with me, I do not use it as a mask. I wear make up (and this may seem crazy) BECAUSE I LIKE IT.

I would also like to believe that some men out there are not stupid enough to think that my eye lids are natually glittery or that my lips can change colour.

So with Becca and Nikki inspiring me I thought oooo I want to do that, one because I want to send the message that girls wear make up because we want to and not to trick men and two because it will be fun haha.

So this is my 'The Power of Make up' in pictures.

                                      (This side of my face)

So this is my total fresh skin, all I have on is my moisturiser which is No7 Early Defence Day Cream from Boots, my primer, which is Make Up Revolution Ultra Face Base Primer from Superdrug and my eye primer which is a sample of Benefits Air Patrol you can pick it up from Boots.

I then use No7 Stay Perfect foundation in the colour Cool Vanilla, from Boots. I apply it with my Lottie London Foundation Brush, from Superdrug.

Next is my concealer, which is my holy grail of concealers, its the Collection concealer in the shade fair. I always tend to find that it sells out really quickly so I buy it in bulk so I never run out, I get it from Superdrug. I used my beauty blender from primark to apply it, first I spray it with my MUA fixing spray and then dab it on to my face.

(Yay no more dark undereye) I then use my Rimmel Stay matte powder, which I apply with my Lottie London fluffy brush, I find that No7 leaves my skin shiney and I need this to just finish off my look into a more matte consistency and also stop it looking all shiney. It also keeps my make up in place.

BROWS BROWS BROWS!!!!!! I use Barry M'S Brow Kit Shape and Define from Superdrug, I find that in the kit all I use is the powder, one because its quick and two because honestly I don't really know what to do with the wax thingy haha. Sadly I am running low on this so I will be looking for an alternative soon.

On  my eye lid I use the Collection Eyes Uncovered Nude Bronze Palette from Superdrug (oh god cant you tell I shop there a LOT) I apply it with Lottie brushes.

For Eyeliner I use the Collection Extreme Felt Liner from Superdrug. I find this so easy to use because the tip is so fine and just so easy to draw with. I also use the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara, I got this in a set at Christmas but I am pretty sure you can still get it in Boots.

On to my favourite, BLUSH, which is Collection in the shade Trouble, the reason I like blush so much is cause sometimes when I really want to put make up on but I am in a rush I put on my stay matte and a bit of blush and it makes me feel all glowy.

FINALLY I use Collections Lip Butter in Vintage Rose, I have had this for a while and always break it out in summer because of how nice the shade is.

And there you have it, my finished half and half Power of make up, showing you what the power of make up is. To me it covers up my dark circles, it gives me colour in the places I like and because it makes me happy.

What do you guys think? Anyone want to do this?? How about showing me your half and halfs on instagram, use the hashtag thepowerofmakeupchallenge

See you soon
Lots of Love
