October Favourites

This month, I have been able to use a few nice new shiny things, so I had the idea to show you what I have been loving this October.

First thing I am loving this month is

To some people this may seem very weird, but I have not worn them since I was about 9. I had a very bad experience where a small back went into my ear, that really put me off them. This month, after some tooing and frowing, I decided to bite the bullet and get a pair. The pair I have (yep only one) is from Warren James, they were £10 and they are super cute, they have a nice sparkle to them and they are just nice and simple nothing too OTT.

I know that I am a "grown up" but honestly (and I know this is going to sound so weird) I feel like I look like an adult, when I wear them. When I was younger all the adults I knew wore earrings so now I wear them I guess I just see myself as a grown up, ADULTING woo!

MUA Strobe and Glow Pearl Gold Highlighter.

Omg can you say PIGMENTED! The glow I get from this highlight is blinding, I do have a video going you on my youtube channel where you can see my first reaction to it. I have never had such a glittery glow before and I love it, all for the bargain price of £5!!! you get a cream highlight and a powder. The cream is very very pigmented, so when I wear it to work I do tend to use the powder on to so it doesn't look too much.

My new planner

I love it! I bought a new planner a few weeks ago and if u know me well, you will know me and planners are not always friends but honestly this one is AMAZING! You set the dates up yourself so you can start the planner whenever you like, you also get stickers too so you can decorate it and customise it just how you like it. I have used Washie tape on mine and created a blog and youtube section. Its become my new best friend. I have planned out when I will post blogs and videos. I have put in when I am in work so that I can see when I am able to write posts, and when I have a bit more free time. I will also be putting together a wedding section. I did have a wedding planner but because my wedding isn't really conventional, I am putting together one myself, now all I need to do is a get a few more washie tapes and some more stickers and it will be perfect for me.

The planner is made by a company called Kikki.k but I bought it mine from TKMaxx, normal prices for Kikki.k planners are about £45 but mine cost me £19.99, so if you are looking for something you can start now and not have to wait till January then head over to your local TKMaxx and see what you can find.

Nothing like watching a programme about witches over the month of Halloween. I first watched this a few months ago but after the first episode I couldn't get into it, but this month I am loving it. It is on Netflix's and I am currently on season 2.

It is all about the witches in Salem (obviously). My favourite character is Anne Hale, she gets a lot more interesting in the last few episodes on season 1 and in season 2. I am having a few days off work at the moment and I will be binge watching this and The Walking Dead. Give a go!

W7 Bronze and Glow

I used this as my contour for a while, then I moved onto my Rimmel Sculpting palette, but after using my W7 in a video I filmed recently, I have fallen back in love with it. The contour isn't too sharp and I add a little bronzer on top and it gives me such a nice colour. It is a dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze which retails for £49, I don't have that palette as I am not a high end girl, but looking at pictures you can see how much of a dupe this is. OS for the bargain price of £5.95 you can have this dupe.

W7 are very good at duping their products as the new eyeshadow palette , released a couple of weeks ago is a dupe (how many times can I say dupe in one sentence) or the Urban Decay Heat palette.

So that is what I have been loving this month. I might be doing this post every month to show you what I like, what do you think> do you want to see more of what I have been loving?

See you Soon

Top 10 Halloween Films

With halloween fast approaching I thought it would be a good idea to show you what my favourite Halloween movies are and why. I don't want to rate them as I actually can't decide, so I will just say which ones I love and why.

1. Hocus Pocus
Who doesn't love the idea of 3 sisters singing "I put a spell on you". This film always reminds me of my friend Liam. At university we spent 90% of the time quoting films and "booooooooooook" has to be a fav! So this film always reminds me of him. Sarah Jessica Parker and Bette Midler being as amazing as ever.

2. The Nightmare Before Christmas
I don't think Halloween would be Halloween without at least one Tim Burton film on my list. Thankfully for you fine people you have a few. The Nightmare before Christmas is a classic! I used to work at the Disney Store and you always knew the season was upon us when ''What's this what's this there's magic in the air?'' came on at least 6 times a day.

3. Sleepy Hollow
Another Burton classic (can you see a pattern). I love this film, the setting, the story and I also love the way the atmosphere changes at the end of the film, how the mood has been lifted. When I first got this film, I would watch it every day (yes I am that obsessed person).

4. Paranormal Activity
This film is single handedly the reason I hate my attic door and also can no longer have my foot out of the quilt at night! In my house I don't have a corridor upstairs just two rooms off the stairs, directly above the stairs is my attic door and I HATE it. I worry that one day I am gonna see it open. The day that happens I will move!

5. Ginger Snaps
I love this film and the 2 others that came after it. As this isn't as popular I will tell you the story. Two sisters, Ginger and Bridget, both very morbid and have a death pact. Ginger gets bitten by a werewolf and Bridget and a friend have to help her. It may not be to everyone's taste but I love it. I also love Ginger Snaps Back, which shows the curse starting in American Puritan times.

6. Misery
Kathy Bates, a sledge hammer and a dirty birdy, what more do you need in a film??? Do I need to go on???

7. Beetlejuice
I freakin LOVE this movie, I can watch it over and over again, Michael Keaton is a god, more Burton brilliance in this, and we get some brill lines ''I myself am strange and unusual''. I have also snapchated, the dinning room song so many times with a squeaky voice.

8. Nightmare on elm street
''1 2 Freddie's coming for you, 3 4 better lock your door, 5 6 grab a crucifix, 7 8 better stay up late, 9 10 never sleep again'' I first watched this when I was about 12 and I used to be so scared of Freddie, now I see it as a bit scary for different reasons. The back story of him is a lot worse, knowing parents were basically killing him for what he did to children. I think it went over the top of my head as a kid but it doesn't now. By the way I have just realised that Jonny Depp is in a lot of these movies, sorry about that.

9. Dawn of the dead
Anything with zombies and I am there, although this film has made me so paranoid when I take the rubbish out at work, going down back corridors all on my own, all I see is them running after me, but I do have a zombie attack plan so it's all good.

10. Poltergeist
The original of course, I have no desire to watch the new one as I don't think it will be very good. This film is amazing, I am still a little scared the watch the scene where the spirits come down the stair's. I also will never give my child a giant clown toy, or live next to a tree. The two other films, are really good too but that preacher guys really scares me.

11. An American Haunting
Lastly a very good story based on true life, depending on where you stand on witches and ghosts that is. This film is based on The Bell Witch. The story was written by the younger brother of the girl in question so people don't know if he was making it up or he actually remembered things from him being so young. The film however takes a different twist on the story and shows it from another light, have a watch and see what you think.

So those are my favourite Halloween films, what are yours?

See you soon

A Human's Right

I, like most people, have been watching the news and seen all of the disgusting reports of Harvey Weinstein, from Ashley Jude to Rose McGowan to James Corden, it seems like there are a lot of people effected by this man or 'trying' to make light of this whole situation.

I couldn't believe that this kind of thing is still going on in this day and age, it just goes to show that even though men and women are a lot more equal then they used to be there is still a lot of things that haven't moved forward.

Celebrities are not the only ones who this is happening to and to be honest Weinstein is probably just the tipping of the iceberg when it comes to Hollywood, but this kind of thing happens to someone everyday. From men rubbing themselves up against women on the tube, to sending unwanted dick pics on social media. What is it that makes people think they are intituled to get away with this kind of thing.

This is not just a women specific problem either, there are so many men out there getting sexually abused by women. The problem is, men have this whole 'I'm so macho' thing going on and women coming on to them is meant to be a good thing, but men might not want it either. Films like 'Horrible Bosses' make light of this with a boss coming onto her employee and his friends are telling him it is a good thing. NO it isn't and not matter if you are a man or a women no one has the right to force themselves on to you.

It is our right as human beings to say no. It is our right to walk down the street and not be wolf whistled. To wear a short skirt or low cut top and not be told we were ''asking for it''. Why is it in 2017 No still isn't being listened to.

Opening up is hard and trust me I know. When I was in secondary school, a boy exposed himself to me in a drama lesson when we had been paired together and sent off to rehearse a scene. He opened his fly pulled out his penis and walked over to me, I was about 15 and I honest was in so much shock I laughed and walked off. I then told my friend who had said the same boy had grabbed her hand and made her touch him. I ended up telling my mom and she spoke to a very nice teacher at my school.

Myself and my friend were taken out of class and showed paperwork and told to write down everything that had happened and to draw on a piece of paper with a boys body on, where he made my friend touch him. The drama teacher was told and he ended up asking me why I hadn't just gone straight to him (he was also the head of our year) when he did it. I explained that I found it hard, one because it was a shock and two how does a 15 year old girl tell a male teacher that she was exposed to. Honestly at that age I just thought 'ok maybe this is just what happens'.

Harassment happens at any age and to anyone, but it shouldn't, people like Harvey Weinstein should not being going to posh clinics to be helped for a sex addiction they don't have, they should be going to prison for attacking and scaring women for life.

If you are worried about something tell someone, tell a friend, a co-worker, a friend, a relative, just please try and tell someone.

Thank you for letting me have this rant and I will see you all soon.

Mental Health Day

As most (if not all) people will know the 10th October was Mental Health Day. It is a full day where you can be aware of mental health issues. My biggest issue is why does it takes a day to acknowledge peoples mental health.

Anyone who has been reading my blog for a while will know, I was diagnosed with Anxiety and Depression when I was 21. Since being told it wasn't just me being a weirdo and there was an explanation for why I was the way I was, I have felt so much better. My next step was to figure out my triggers and how to avoid them or overcome them when I cant avoid them.

9 years have passed and to be honest yes I do still find it hard, I struggle a lot with paranoia in my normal life and in my relationship. My anxiety I have found over the last few months is starting to get a lot harder to deal with, I have been having a few panic attacks, or finding it hard to focus and to breath. I have this anxiety tic sort of thing that I do, it is very hard to describe in words, but I rub my hands together and hold my breath. Its very hard to explain, but it sort of helps.

I am currently having other health problems so I am also stressing over them which doesn't help because they make me even more anxious. My depression at the moment hasn't reared its ugly head, but I am guess it is only round the corner.

The reason I am writing this and telling you about myself is because I am not the only person out there who is suffering, if it is happening to me that it is happening to other people and I want you to know you are not alone. There is always someone here for you to talk to or to just be a shoulder to cry on.

If you ever feel the need to talk you can message me or you can also go to any of these places:

Mind -

Sane -

The Samaritans -

You can also go to your GP they will have all the information that you can ask for. They will also be someone you can speck to, the first doctor I spoke to was my university doctor, and to be honest he wasn't very sympathetic. Although my own doctor from back home was so supportive, she listened to me and took it very seriously, she put me in touch with a group that gave me CBT which is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. It helped a lot because it gave me a chance to rethink how I was thinking and understand how my mind worked.

My biggest bit of advise for you though would be do not keep it in, even if you message the Samaritans, it is totally anonymous so there isn't someone judging you, you can talk to them and they can be someone you can turn to and talk to, just incase you ever need a shoulder.

I hope this post has been able to help you.

See you soon

Last 3 Months of 2017

As much as I am in denial, 2017 is swiftly coming to an end. So with only 3 months left I want to do a little bucket list of the end of the year to see how many of these things I get done before the year is out.

These little quarterly (ish) lists are good just to keep you on track and to show how much you can and cant do. Anything I don't get done I will move them over to the next three months and so on.

- Finish Megan Jayne Crabbes book ''Body Positive Power''
I got this book at Curve Fashion Festival and being a bit of a slow reader it is taking me a while to finish it but honestly I don't think a book has touched me as much as this one has. Megan should honestly be the person who goes round schools telling pupils and teenagers that they need to embrace their bodies. She is an unbelievable human being who is such a sweet person and who needs to get a million stars for being so good. She has made me look at my body in such a different way, I no longer feel that I have to be anything but me. If I want to eat Krispy Kremes, dairy milks and Maccies all in one day I bloody well will. This is my body and I will do what I want, if I want to spend the day eating a salad and drinking water I bloody well will because it it my body and I will do what I want with it. No one has the right to tell you how to live and Megan explains this in the book as well as little exercises to give you a little kick up the bum to accepting your body as it is.

- Second get a passport.
Yes to peoples shock and amazement I have never been on a plane (insert gasp here). I have been out the country I have been to France twice and I have also been skiing in Italy, but when I was 18 I was mugged and my passport was in my bag and I have never gotten a replacement. With me getting married next year I need a passport to prove I am who I say I am, so I suppose I better get my but moving with this one.

-Third Do more YouTube
YouTube is something I have ALWAYS loved, I watch so many people, so I finally took the plunge last month to start filming myself, at this moment I have 3 videos on my computer ready to be edited but I am a bit scared. One is a Lush haul which is fine with, one is a vlog when we went to Dunham Massey, and the last is a make up tutorial, that is were I get scared. I know I am opening myself up to critasisum when I make videos but I worry people will just slate me for how I do my make up. So the video is made up of me saying over and over ''This is how I do my make up I am not a make up artist this is just what works for me' which is all I kept saying. So maybe I just need to get over my fear and just do it. I think my target for the end of the year is to upload another 12 videos, so 1 per week for the rest of the year. So watch this space.

-Forth Getting into a proper skin care routine
I normally have good skin, I don't get breakouts, I have a bit of redness but apart from that I have good skin....Till now that is, over the last week or so I have been getting spots and breakouts. I think its because I am breaking the number 1 rule in make up and going to bed with my make up on! I now its a shock but I bet I am not the only person who does it. I am trying at the moment to get into a routine of getting in from where ever I have been and if I know I wont be going back out, taking my make up off and washing my face properly, also using a scrub twice a week, just to make my skin feel a bit better. The scrub I am using at the moment is the Nip n Fab scrub, you only need to tiniest amount and trust me you can feel it working. I got this one free in a goodie back at Curve Fashion Festival but this will be repurchased.

I think 4 things in 3 months is enough for me at the moment. So keep an eye on this blog in the new year and lets see how I have kept up with this little bucket list.

See you soon

From Maisie Brush Review

Like most people I am obsessed with unicorns. I love them, I have pjs with unicorns on, my screen saver is a unicron, I have a unicorn jewellery plate, slippers, t-shirts, bags, teddies (yes I am 29 years old) you name it I probably have it. So when I saw a make up brush in the shape of a unicorn horn I HAD to have it.

The company From Maisie was started by a lovely lady called Emma and her husband James, it truly is a family affair since the brand is named after their daughter, which I think is just adorable. Not only do they sell unicorn shaped make up brushes but they also sell mermaid tail shaped brushed too. So all you mermaid lovers you know where to go (the do also sell normal shaped brushes, in case for some strange reason you didn't like unicorns or mermaids). The company is still a baby, starting in September 2017 but is already very popular and it isn't hard to see why.

I first saw the company on Instagram and fell in love, they are amazing brushes and when I got the chance to get my hands on them I jumped at the chance. I decided to go for the Maisie's Unicorn, they are pink, purple and blue unicorn horn brushes, the bristles are white with a purple tip.

You can see the passion the brand have as soon as the envelope lands on your door step. It is a silver mermaid looking type envelope. Its the type of envelope that you know your getting something fun inside.

The brushes themselves come in a white drawstring 'From Maisie' bag, and then are wrapped individually in plastic. I like that since it shows each brush is really looked after individually rather then having something that is just dumped all together.

In the pack you get 10 brushes, 5 face and 5 eye/lip. The brushes themselves are super soft and you can feel the quality in them, they don't feel cheap. I have had cheap brush and straight away you can tell they will fall apart but the 'From Maisie' brushes really do feel nice and strong.

I started to use the brushes the next day and being truthful a week later I am still reaching for them rather than my normal brushes (including my beauty blender).

I use the angled face brush as a foundation brush, I don't find my foundation streaky and I have found it is speading up my make up in the morning, (which can easily be spent snoozing that alarm). My favourite brush has to be the shading brush, it feels so nice and simple to blend out my eyeshadows. Having a little bit of a hooded eye, blending is important for my eye shape to match.

I have used the brushes on a few palettes and it picks up the product well, I haven't had as much fall out from shadows using these brushes. The unicorn handle makes it easy for me to hold as well. I have a deformed thumb so it is a lot smaller then my other thumb so I do find this a lot easier to hold then other brushes.

So far the only brushes I haven't used have been the lip brush and the flat face brush, just because I don't use lip brushes and not being 100% on my make up brushes I don't no what I would use the flat brush to do.

The blush brush is ultra soft but I must admit I have used it to powder my face with rather then a blush. This is because of the slight point it has, I find it goes under my eye easier.

The care of the brushes is as easy as any other, I clean them in baby shampoo and I store them in my little pot for makeup brushes. I love the added bonus of having the 'From Maisie' bag, I can see that making traveling with them so much more easy. It will also be good to pop in a couple of make up items in the bag as well since it is quite a good size bag.

I really like these brushes and I just hope 'From Maisie' expand and maybe add brushes like highlighter, angel brush for eyebrows maybe. Or maybe even a mini unicorn horn beauty blender (a girl can dream can't she).

If you've been looking at them and your not sure, honestly do it! I'm glad I did.

See you Soon
