Happy Birthday A Diary Of A Curvy Girl

So October marks the 3rd birthday of my blog. I will be the first person to admit that I have not always been a consistent blogger and that it is something that I am working on. I want to write more, it really does relax me and allows me to open up a lot more.

My writing style literally is I write the exact same way I hear it in my head, and friends who read my blog tell me that they hear me speak when they read what I write. I love that since the whole reason I started this was for it to be my diary and diary's are meant to be where you write down everything that has happened along with your thoughts and feelings.

During the next year I have a few good ideas as to what I want to do and where I want to go with my blog. Number one being I want to write a lot more. Number two I want to do a lot more collaborations with other bloggers. I also want to grow my YouTube channel, I am starting to get a lot more comfortable being in front of the camera (thank you Leah for helping me).

Something I have been a little bit scared of is being very open with my life on here, I always worry people will read this in my private life and think omg no you cant write that on there it is like airing your dirty laundry in public, but I want to show all you who read my blog that I am a real person I have crap that happens to me.

My close friends know that the last year has not exactly been the best year of my life. Myself and Paul split up due to him not being open with me about some things, thankfully we are ok now and we are back on with the wedding planning. A big thing I want to talk more about as well is my health.

Ok so BIG news time, myself and Paul have been trying for a baby for 2 years and we have had no luck. The reason it is big news is because Pauls family don't know that we have been trying. I am not really sure any of his family read my blog...I don't even think my family read my blog so I doubt this will get mentioned to them really. I want to talk more about the fact that after 2 years of trying and no luck why I haven't gone to the doctor. I feel like if I am going through this, then so is someone else somewhere and if I can help one person by writing a piece like that then I will be happy.

I want to show people how I have gotten a lot more body confident .... after I figure it out myself haha, I have noticed in the last few months I have grown so much and seen a change and again I want to help people and show that you can love yourself, no matter what anyone else says.

So that is my plan, in the next year I will grow my blog by posting a lot more, turn the big 3 0 (yep I'm not a baby anymore), become Mrs Corbett and just enjoy myself.

Anyway that's enough of me rambling for a little while, thank you to everyone who has been with me from the beginning and reading about my little life, and to those who have just joined well stay tuned cause the ride is about to get a lot more interesting.

I love you all
Here's to the next Year
Lots of Love
Your Curvy Girl.

Curve Fashion Festival

Curve Fashion Festival is amazing on so many levels, first you get to see new seasons items with brands that you love. You get to talk to the brands themselves as well. Fashion shows give you inspiration on how to wear the clothes you have fell in love with, but what I love the most about it is that you get to meet amazing people you have seen online, from Instagram, Blogs or Twitter.

This year was my second time attending and this year was so much bigger then ever, I love that this event is growing and growing because it proves us fat girls and boys are here and we aren't going anywhere.

As soon as I walked in I made my way straight over to Lindy Bop stand. I have always loved Lindy Bop clothing, I am such a vintage girl at heart and love nothing more then a 50s style dress with a petticoat. Trust me this season is going to knock your socks off. Not only are Lindy Bop giving you utterly gorgeous clothes but they are also moving into the home too, so pop over and check them out.

I first spotted this outfit and just died, it is amazing I love it and I need it in my life, not only is it perfect for Autumn Winter but the jumper is so soft. The skirt is so nice the love the top of it comes over the belt it is such a nice detail. Perfect for walks or a nice day out.

The girls are the stall were all lovely and just as nuts about Lindy Bop as I was (well maybe more then me since they worked there). One girls there was called Sophie and she was showing me the new lines (which you can see on the rail to the left of the picture above). I went through and picked out some of my favourite pieces. Including a dress with little Heidi like looking characters on.

This skirt I managed to get my hands on, I have written a review of it and you can find that here.

Another stall I fell in love with was Live Unlimited London, I got the chance to se some of there Autumn Winter line and fell in love with a coat they had, it is gorgeous, its blue with a removable fur shrug going round it which is so unbelievably soft, I just wanted to stand and stroke it all day and probably would have done given half the chance.

The other things I got to do at Curve was to listen to the amazing Grace and Megan talk about being influencers. Both girls are such an inspiration and they do really seem so down to earth.

I also got to meet Megan a little later on when I got her book signed. I have loved Megan's Instagram for such a long time, she is such an inspiration and if you are ever having a down day with your body confidence she is the person you need to look for. Since I have began to read her book I have been boosted up 10 times more then before and I am not even 100 pages in yet.

Like I said before she is a genuinely nice person and so so sweet.

I also got to meet up with these awesome ladies!!!

Woo is the world ready for two Charlottes!!!!

Sam is such a sweetheart, no matter when we meet she always gives me a good selfie!

I loved Leahs glitter, it honestly made me think she looked like a mermaid.

First time I ever met Rosie, and I think I may have scared her (oops) I saw her as I was leaving and just sort of yelled omg can I have a selfie with you! So Rosie if your reading this I am sorry I was just super excited. We then spoke about how I can improve my victory role skills since my curls didn't last the day.

I also met Tess Holiday, this is the third time I have met her and she was lovely, she signed her book and even gave Paul a handshake.

Without a doubt this is my favourite picture that gets taken every year at Curve, it is organised by the lovely Debz, and it includes the most amazing group of women u will ever meet, they are all beautiful, creative, honest and down right SEXY!!!! This is the big blogger picture taken so again thank you so much Debz for organising it every year.

All in all Curve was AMAZING this year, not only did I get to see (and buy) gorgeous clothing, I got to meet new people and catch up with old friends. If someone has never been to Curve I really do recommend it, don't be nervous to go alone either trust me you are welcomed with open arms. Also next year if you see me grab me for a selfie I want loads with everyone haha.

Thank you guys so much for reading.

Love you lots

Lindy Bop Skirt

Curve Fashion Festival is the best place to meet people to have a good time and be around like minded people but it is above all a fashion event. When I found out the final line up of brands that were going to be at Curve this year I got very excited about Lindy Bop. There dresses are amazing and such good quality. So you can guess my first stop was at that stall.

We went straight over and I was greeted by the lovely Lindy Bop girls, one girl who I got talking to was called Sophie, she was so nice and so easy to talk to and knew everything about the brand. She told me to have a look around and I could get to see some of the new season items they were bringing out, needless to say all the new pieces are gorgeous. What took my eye more then anything was a skirt, it was black and white stripped with a pink flower design in the middle, you wouldn't even need to wear a petticoat with it as it would sit really nicely without.

I knew I would have to wait till next season before I was able to get it so I took a pic and kept it in mind.

I had wondered back to the stall a few hours later and Sophie told me that at 4pm they would be selling everything on the stand. I asked if that included the new season items and she said yes, since they are what the models wore on shoots they were all a size 22 and they would sell them all with 20% off. I don't think I need to tell you I was over the moon.

I raced back at 4pm and got my hands on the skirt, I had fallen so much in love with. It is so soft and such a good material. It has pleats running around it and it really does sit so nicely.

I took it out for a test drive yesterday, I paired it with a black top I tucked into the skirt and a cardi, with black flats, but with the colours on the skirt you can also pair it with a pink of white top or cardi.

I doesn't feel heavy when you wear it. It flows really nicely and I am honestly so glad I got it, I know we are going into autumn now but I will be wearing this a lot more, another amazing addition to this skirt is POCKETS yes ladies that amazing 7 letter word all women love to hear about in dresses and skirts and trust me when I took it out I used full advantage of those bad boys. In the pictures your about to see I wanted to twirl but sadly being on a rock and twirling would not have ended well with a huge lake behind me.

There are many more things LindyBop are going to be bringing out this season including a cute Stag jumper, unicorn bags and a very cute dress that looks like it has a scene from 'Heidi'. I can see my wardrobe growing in the next few months.

The skirt will retailing for £25 and will be on the website at the end of September. Grab it before it goes.

Love you loads
